Process automation for safe and cost-effective production facilities

In the chemical industry, process safety, plant availability and product quality are top priorities. Complex production processes, stringent safety requirements and 24/7 plant operation call for high-performance automation solutions that function reliably and respond flexibly to changing requirements.

The GESA Automation GmbH has many years’ experience in the automation of process plants and develops bespoke solutions for a wide range of applications in the chemical industry – from EMSR project planning through control and process control technology to commissioning.

Experience in process automation

We automate systems for the transport and production of gases, liquids and solids. In doing so, we implement both individual process steps and complex turnkey plants.

Our experience includes, amongst other things:

  • Evaporation plants
  • Drying plants
  • Dosing and mixing processes
  • Filtration and flotation plants
  • Gas scrubbing
  • Air separation plants
  • Recooling plants
  • Compressor and pump systems
  • Loading and unloading facilities
  • Hazardous substance storage and handling processes

Thanks to our many years of project experience, we understand the specific requirements of process engineering plants and develop cost-effective automation solutions that have proven their worth in industrial applications.

EMSR project planning and functional safety

We undertake the complete EMSR design of your process plant. This includes, amongst other things, circuit diagrams, loop designs and the design of explosion-proof and safety-critical systems, including Ex-i and SIL circuit calculations.

In this way, we lay the foundations for safe, compliant and reliable plant operation.

Efficient software and control systems

To implement your automation projects, we draw on tried-and-tested software modules, typical designs, faceplates and simulation models. This enables us to reduce engineering effort and shorten project lead times, whilst ensuring a high level of quality and standardisation.

Modernisation whilst the plant is in operation

Many chemical plants have tried-and-tested process technology, whilst their control and monitoring systems require modernisation. Using well-thought-out retrofit concepts, we upgrade existing automation solutions in stages, whilst minimising disruption to ongoing operations as much as possible.

Digitalisation of chemical processes

The intelligent integration of automation technology and IT provides transparency regarding plant status, process data and energy consumption. This enables production processes to be continuously optimised, maintenance to be planned effectively and well-informed decisions to be made on the basis of up-to-date operational data.

Are you planning a new process plant or looking to modernise existing systems? We develop bespoke automation solutions tailored to the requirements of the chemical industry.
